Sid Shady pushed the button next to the name Art Conn. “Ya?” “Special delivery for a … Mr. Conn?” Shady heard the buzz and opened the door. It was Sunday and the building was deserted. Sid struggled into his rubber gloves and tightened the silencer on his .22 automatic. “Mr. Conn?” asked Shady. “Ya, whadda’ ya got?” “This,” replied Shady pumping several bullets into his “hit”. Shady stepped inside and closed the door. Satisfied that nobody was around, Sid picked up the phone and called the police to report a murder and insure his immediate payment for the hit. Shadow, who just happened to be in the area, thought he recognized Sid Shady coming out of the building as he grabbed the door and ran in. Although there were no witnesses and no fingerprints left anywhere, Shady had inadvertently left Shadow indelible proof that he was there. What evidence did he leave?

Hint #2 – Shady left some other indelible proof that can be deduced from the picture.

Answer – Sid failed to wipe the earpiece on the phone. Quite recently, hundreds of criminals in the United States, the Netherlands and Switzerland have been caught by their ears. Police are finding that ear-print-marks made by an ear pressed against a door, window or phone are as good as fingerprints in tying a villain to a crime. Each human ear is unique in structure, even in identical twins.
